Junior MasterChef Series 2
Junior MasterChef will be back in 2011, Network Ten announced that a new series of Junior MasterChef would go into production for 2011, while applications for the new series of the popular family cooking show have already closed for series two. Filming started on the 28th July 2011.
Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston alongside Anna Gare will be judging junior cooks this time.
MasterChef TV cooking show became a part of almost every Australian family with its nightly cooking shows, cooking books, MasterChef recipes, even MasterChef cooking classes and cooking games for girls and boys.
12-year-old Brisbane girl Isabella won the contest to become Australia's first Junior Masterchef. She, along with her twin sister Sofia, is planning to pool their winnings - Isabella received a trust fund to the value of $15,000; while Sofia won $5000 for being in the Top 4 alongside Siena. Runner-up Jack from Hobart took home a $10,000 trust fund.
Isabella has also won a family holiday to Japan as part of her prize package. She said she hopes to use some of the prise money for a family trip to Italy to trace her family's culinary heritage and some for opening their Italian restaurant called Is-Sofia in Brisbane.
Children aged between 8 and 12 years from all over Australia applied for the second series of Junior Masterchef. All the young contestants are supposed to be very enthusiastic about cooking and spending time in the kitchen, have cooked some things on their own or with the help of their parents or guardians. What is more, young contestants should not be shy in front of the cameras! Little chefs must also have couple of their own favourite dishes that they can cook for the judges.
So, roll up all MasterChef lovers, take your cook books to take notes and collect ideas about cooking with kids, prepare your handkerchiefs to whip your tears MasterChef is coming stronger than ever.
