Dough Recipe

This dough recipe is the simplest and the most versatile dough recipe that became my favourite. Changing and adding couple of ingredients to this basic dough recipe you would be able to create your own perfect easy family dinner recipe, or an easy kids healthy recipe. This easy recipe, I am sure, will become your family favourite dough recipe that will save you in many occasions.

My super easy pizza dough will become your favorite while making some healthy school lunches for your kids. Once you try the savory version of this easy dough recipe you will never buy pizzas for your kids at a supermarket again.

Are Cinnamon Rolls your families favorite? Delicious Cinnamon Rolls made with soft, quick rising dough are my families’ best dessert. My kids and my husband can’t get enough of them.

No one can resist the smell of a freshly baked bread in the house, it is absolutely irresistible!

For this dough recipe I prefer to use my bread making machine, as it speeds the dough making process and the result is always outstanding. But you can also knead your dough by hands.


Dough Recipe

1 tbs - vegetable oil
120 g - unsalted butter, melted
250 ml – warm milk
3 tbs sugar (for your sweet dough 4-5 tbs)
Pinch of salt
400 gr all-purpose flower
14-15 g dry yeast

Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Basic Dough Cycle, press Start and have a cup of tea. Leave the dough to further proof for about 45min after the end of the dough cycle.

When the dough is ready roll it 1,5-2 cm thick 20cm x 40 cm rectangle and spread with pizza tomato paste. Sprinkle with ham and cheese. Turn the dough so the long end is in front of you and roll up. Slice into 10-12 pieces and place side-by-side on the tray.

Brush with egg and bake in a preheated to 375 F (190C) oven for 25 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Enjoy!

The best part about this dough recipe - you can stuff it with anything you like. I like making a pizza kids pinwheels my daughter take into her school lunchbox for the school lunch.

Try different cheeses (use any that melt well). Pizza tomato sauce, chopped salami, olives, and spinach, fresh or dry herbs, bits of leftover bacon or ham. Use your imagination and your kids preferences.


If you don’t have a bread maker, here are the directions for making the dough by hand.


Heat the milk in a small saucepan until it bubbles, and then remove from heat. Mix in butter; stir until melted. Let cool until lukewarm.

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 1/4 cup flour, yeast, sugar and salt; mix well. Add milk mixture; beat well. Add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. When the dough has just pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let rest for 10 minutes.

For Cinnamon Rolls

1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup raisins (optional)

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, softened butter.

Roll out dough into a 12x9 inch rectangle. Spread dough with butter/sugar mixture. Sprinkle with raisins if desired. Roll up dough and pinch seam to seal. Cut into 12 equal size rolls and place cut side up in 12 lightly greased muffin cups. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until browned. Yummy!
