This marshmallow dessert recipe is perfect to be used at your next school cake stall, fete, it will make a perfect Easter treat, be a lovely addition for your kids birthday party food, or you can put it as a sweet treat for your child’s school lunchbox. This delicious homemade recipe is quick to make and contain no egg, gluten or nuts.
• 12 flat-bottomed ice cream cones
• Packet of marshmallows
• 150g white or milk chocolate
• Sprinkles
Divide your marshmallows between the ice cream cones.
Finely chop chocolate (you can use cooking chocolate melting buttons which you can buy at any supermarket) and place in a heatproof bowl that fits snugly in a saucepan (this stops water spraying into the chocolate). Half-fill saucepan with water and bring to a simmer. Place bowl on top, making sure it doesn't touch water (or it will overheat). Stir with a metal spoon until melted. Avoid wooden or plastic spoons - these retain moisture that makes chocolate seize (harden).
Using a metal spoon cover the tops of your marshmallow ice cream cones with melted chocolate.
Decorate your cones with colorful sprinkles. Act quickly as chocolate will harden very quick. Gorgeous marshmallow and chocolate dessert!
